PileJax Success Story – Gold Coast

Another successful PileJax Installation

The PileJax jackets were successfully installed on the Lands End Bridge over the Biggera Waters Creek on Marine Parade at the Gold Coast. The job involved repairs to heavily cracked and corroded concrete piles on the 56 year old bridge. The piles requiring repair were very large and positioned in deep and fast moving tidal wave conditions making other methods impossible. The ability for PileJax to quickly and cost-effectively rehabilitate the bridge with a long-term durable solution has saved Council and ratepayers millions of dollars for the cost to replace the bridge.During the entire repair, there was no interruption to traffic and the busy two-lane traffic bridge remained open and operational.

Raw Worx was the specialist contractor who successfully completed the project.  Due to the very large size and nature of the pile repairs, a very large volume of up to 12 tonnes of aggregate concrete per pile was pumped using innovative pumping methods into each PileJax jacket.

PileJax jackets have successfully extended the working life of the Gold Coast City Council’s infrastructure assets since 2013.  PileJax, along with superior contractors such as Raw Worx, have completed multiple bridge and jetty pile repair projects for the Council during this time. This latest success demonstrates the superior nature of the PileJax jacket repair system to extend the life of all bridge, jetty, wharf and other marine structures.
